Jimmy’s Sister Gets Much Deserved Accolades

From the time LuLu’s opened as a small little restaurant on a pier I was drawn to the place. Unfortunately for me, I never made it to the original location. But I did end up there at it’s great new digs in the summer of 2005 when Barbara and I took our two oldest grand-daughters, Kirsten and Autumn on a Road Trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama.

If I ever get the time, I’d love to write a whole article why visiting LuLu’s had got to be on your “List of Things to Do Today.” Until then, enjoy this article on LuLu’s Restaurant and Jimmy’s Sister. And for God’s Sake, don’t wait for me write my article before going. Just this last November, I was there on a Solo Road Dawg Trip down to Gulf Shores to hear Will Kimbrough.

Jimmy at Lulu’s / Gulf Shores Alabama

I happened to be watching some Will Kimbrough videos on YouTube when I stumble across this video of Jimmy stealing a moment with friends at his sister’s restaurant in Gulf Shores. It’s a great place to visit if your in the area, and you just might accidentally show up at the same time Jimmy does. How cool would that be?

If I had to guess, the person who shot this video did it on the sly, because Jimmy seems oblivious to anyone taping him. So what you see here is Bubba in his natural state put to some pretty cool music. Enjoy

Thanks to “GulfShoresLocal” whoever you are…Nice Work.

Just spent the last hour or so trying to dig up information on Pirate’s Cove. While there’s not a lot of information or photos on the net, there was certainly enough to peak my interest, if not for the neighborhood alone. Pirate’s Cove is near the Florida/Alabama Border, thus close to the FloraBama. I’m anxious to find out how much is left of this infamous PH Establishment. Then you have LuLu’s near by, and Perdido Key. I’m really looking forward to my little Road Trip down to the Gulf Coast. I’m looking at a six hour ride in a rental car, but I’m counting on it being well worth it. And getting to see Will Kimbrough perform at a truly Southern Establishment, like this looks to be, will be the icing on the cake. I’m getting old, but I still get my Road Dawg on as often as possible.
